Instructions

1
Cut a piece of plywood to 22-by-12 inches. These measurements will work for a child that weights no more than 160 lbs.
-
2
Cut off 3 inches of each corner on the plywood at a 45-degree angle.
-
3
Place the child's shoe in the center of the plywood. Trace the outside of the shoe onto the plywood.
-
4
Drill a hole with a 3/8-inch bit at the center of the traced line on both sides.
-
5
Drill two more holes 2 inches away from the first set of holes.
-
6
Slide the nylon cord through one of the holes. Slide the other end of the cord through the hole on the opposite side. Repeat with the other cord.
-
7
Place the shoe back on the traced line, and position one cord over the laces of the shoe. Position the other cord around the ankle of the shoe.
-
8
Tie the two cord ends together that are on the same side. Pull the cord tight around the shoe, and tie the other two cord ends. The shoe should be held onto the plywood. The cord needs to be tight so when walking the shoe doesn't slip out of the cord.
-
9
Repeat step 1-8 to make a second shoe.
