Homemade Wakeboard Rack

Simple Wooden Racks
-
A cheap and easy wakeboard can be made with a few pieces of wood cut to the right length and attached to a wall. Simply measure the width of the wakeboard on the flat surface and cut wooden 1-by-1 boards a few inches longer. Cut two per wakeboard you own and cut one end at about a 45-degree angle, so that it points up and the wakeboards can be easily slid into them and won't slide out. Simply pair these wooden pieces together per wakeboard and put others above it when more wakeboards need to be stowed.
Hanging PVC Pipe
-
Similar to a surfboard holder in a garage, a simple wakeboard holder can be constructed with PVC pipes and chain. Cut two pieces of chain about 3 to 4 feet long each and another that is about twice the length of the wakeboard itself. Then cut two pieces of PVC pipe that are slightly wider then the widest part of your wakeboard. Make sure they have a gauge that allows two pieces of chain to be run through them at the same time, so you'll be able to add more levels to the rack. Then run the longer pieces of chain through the PVC pipes, one on each side and the third piece of chain through the PVC pipes, connecting them to each other so the rack has stability. Then attach each end of the chain on the ends of the PVC pipe to a beam or part of the ceiling above, so that it hangs with the two PVC pipe sections on the chain, which will support the wakeboard.
Wooden Shelf
-
With a large square or rectangular piece of wood longer than the length of the wakeboards, a series of simple shelves can be built that will create a small but efficient wakeboard rack. A stable base should be created for the backboard first, with a few simple small 2-by-4s on each end of the wooden back and metal braces installed against it. "L"-shaped pieces of wood should then be attached to the wooden back of the stand, two that are on the same level per wakeboard that will be racked up. Secure these with wood screws or metal braces. Most of the sizing and measurements for this wooden shelf rack are based on how many wakeboards you will need to rack and how big they are.
