Only a few years ago bodyboarding was still a fledgling sport for which stand-up surfers had to be recruited to judge competitions. Today, bodyboarding is a full-flung sport with its own pros, regulations and international associations.

Amateur competitions take place all over the world and provide a laid back environment for bodyboarding displays.

      Just show up. The only thing you need to attend a bodyboarding competition is some sunscreen and a pair of shades. Get to the competition early so you can have your choice of bleacher or beachfront seating. A pair of binoculars can be helpful to see the action in detail.
