Instructions

    • 1

Check the spring training schedule and get tickets early. Buy tickets along the left field foul line near the field.

    • 2

Arrive at the spring training game early. Batting practice is an overlooked opportunity for snagging a foul ball. Move to the seats near third base if they are unoccupied as most batters are right handed and pull hitters who hit to left field.

    • 3

Bring a baseball glove. Trying to bare hand a screaming foul ball can break fingers, noses or teeth. A baseball glove increases the chances of grabbing a foul ball near the wall. Stay out of the way of the fielders during the game as the ball is in play until it strikes the seats.

    • 4

Stand by either of the foul poles. Good long ball hitters often hit several balls off the foul pole before sending one over the fence.

    • 5

Keep your eyes on the ball. This is best done while wearing sunglasses on sunny days. The glasses also offer protection from accidental eye-poking when other fans try to grab your foul ball.
