How to Use a NASCAR Scanner

NASCAR has some of the most die-hard fans found anywhere. Because of that, there is a scanner available now called Fanview. The innovation broadcasts everything from race stats to the discussions between a driver and his pit crew chief. This hand-held device comes with a wall charger, a battery and video as well as audio, something not offered by every NASCAR scanner.

Instructions

    • 1

View the race on the Fanview screen by pressing the yellow "TV" button. Use the black buttons with the white up and down arrow keys to change between in-car cameras. The arrows--left, right, up and down-- are located respectively on the 2468 keys. They, along with the "TV" button, allow you to switch between footage from the driver's perspective and the video streaming on the Jumbotron at the actual race.

    • 2

Click the "Driver" button to enter a particular driver number to view his in-camera and get all information related to him or her.

    • 3

Press the "Stats" button to see real time information such as who is in the lead during a race. Use the left and right buttons to view statistics from a particular race as it is being broadcast.

    • 4

Punch the "Audio" button to hear the communications among race car drivers' teams, the discussions between the race officials and the conversations held between a pit crew team and its driver.

    • 5

"Scan" to search through all of the drivers, officials, and radios and pause on any conversation. By selecting scan, you can pause a scan and start it again.

    • 6

Use the special feature "Priority Scan" to listen to your favorite drivers. You place them in the order that you would like to hear them. Punch 5 or 6 on the keypad to disable or enable the function. Use the buttons 1 through 4 on the keypad to arrange them by entering the car number. When priority scan is not in use, then the only audio is that of the radio broadcast.

Select the "Replay" button then enter a car number to hear a driver's last conversation as well as previous officials' conversations.
