Instructions

    • 1

Be lucky enough to have your favorite NFL team make it to the Superbowl. Find 6 fans who equal your insane level of support for the team. Everyone should be of limited means so that actually affording to attend a Superbowl is impossible.

    • 2

Begin your planning as soon as you know your team is going to the Superbowl. Accommodations in a Superbowl host city are always at a max premium. Take vacation the Thursday through the following Tuesday of Superbowl weekend. Instruct your 6 friends to do the same.

    • 3

Rent a large RV. These units will accommodate 7 people. For 6 days rental, cost will be approximately $800. Further costs will be determined by mileage and gasoline. A class C RV, the big ones, get between 6 and 9 miles per gallon.

    • 4

Investigate campgrounds in the Superbowl host city. Try to secure reservations for a site as close as you can to the stadium. Divide responsibilities for food, sundries, etc. among your friends. Agree that the total cost of the "tailgate" will be equally divided, so everyone should keep records.

    • 5

Check out parking at the Superbowl. Each different host city has different restrictions--Superbowl XV did not allow open flame grills--Superbowl XVI had no RV parking. Plan your party accordingly--perhaps renting a van for the Sunday of Superbowl if the stadium has no RV parking.

    • 6

Obtain the best means of viewing the game. RVs will often have televisions in them, but you may want to check out upgrading to a larger screen.

    • 7

Load up on the Thursday before Superbowl. Drive to the host city. Settle into your RV park. Rent your van. Hit the parties on Friday and Saturday. Take either your RV or van to the Superbowl stadium parking lot early on Sunday morning. Set up your tailgate. Scream loud enough to be heard in the stadium.
