How to Calculate Betting

When you place a bet, you will receive odds. These odds are a fraction with two numbers, for example, 7-1. Using these odds, you can calculate a bet to see how much you receive if you win the bet. This is important because you want to make sure you are paid the right amount of money if you win. The more money you bet, the higher the amount of money you could possibly win.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the bet. For example 9-2.

    • 2

Divide the betting fraction to calculate its decimal form. In the example, 9 divided by 2 equals 4.5.

    • 3

Multiply the betting fraction in decimal form by the bet placed. In the example, if you bet $5, then $5 times 4.5 equals $22.50. This is your payout, not counting your original bet.

    • 4

Add your original bet to the payout to calculate total payout. In the example, $22.50 plus $5 equals $27.50.
