Instructions

    • 1

Before the race, download the course map and spectator guide from chicagomarathon.com. This shows the course and public transportation so spectators know where to go and how to get there.

    • 2

Pick three or four spots to view the race before it starts. These can be designated viewing areas or other points along the course. Pick spots near Chicago Transit Authority stops in order to move quickly from one site to another.

    • 3

Move quickly between viewing points because crowds could be large at every point along the course. Find spots near passing runners.

    • 4

Use public transportation to get to each viewing point. Traffic will be snarled by road closures because of the race.

    • 5

Pick a specific location to meet runners after the race. It will take time for runners to get to the finish area. It could be difficult to locate them among the throngs of people.
