How to Create a Group in ESPN College Pick 'em

ESPN College Pick'em is a popular game played by about 300,000 people every college football season. The game involves picking winners of ten games every week and ranking those games from 1 to 10. For every correct pick the player gets the number of points they assigned to the game. ESPN College Pick'em therefore requires more skill than just picking winners. One of the best features of the game is the ability to create groups. This allows you to play against friends or strangers with common interests.

      Log on to ESPN College Pick'em and create a profile. There is a link to the website below. Provide a user name and password, and then make your picks for the week. Once you create a profile you can create and join groups.

      Click on the "create or join a group" link next to your user name. This will take you to the group directory. Here you can search for existing groups. No two groups can have the same name, so you may want to see if your chosen group name is taken. If you come across a public group you want to join, just click on the "join this group" link. Keep in mind that you are only allowed to be in a maximum of three groups.

      Click on "create a group" link under "options." Submit a group name and a group motto. These can be anything as long as it is not obscene. Also decide whether your group should be public or private. Anyone can join a public group. Only people you invite can join your private group. If you create a private group you must enter a group password. You can also enter a link to a picture under "Image URL" and a group message. These are optional. Click the "create or join group" button. You have now created your group.

      Click "invite friends" link. This is how to get your friends to join your group. You can send them an email invitation by typing in their email addresses or importing them from you email program. Your friends join your group by responding to your email.

      Ask your friends to join if you don't know their email address. Provide your friends with the group name and password if your group is private. They can can log on themselves and join.
