How to Take Down a Guy Twice Your Size

At some point in your life, you may find yourself in a position to fight someone who is bigger or even twice your size. In these instances, you may be prepared or caught off guard. However, you can protect yourself if ever required to fight someone, although you may be at a strength and power disadvantage. Consider preparing for a fight with someone who is twice your size mentally and physically to give yourself the greatest chance of protecting yourself as possible.

Instructions

    • 1

Get in shape. Although your opponent may have a size advantage over you, you can attempt to match him in strength by working out. Do push-ups to build strength in your arms and cardio activity to build stamina. Pull-ups and sit-ups will also help you to become stronger as you prepare for your fight.

    • 2

Develop skills. Take a kickboxing, karate, or Tae-bo class at a local gym to learn skills used in fighting and powerful techniques.

    • 3

Hit his "soft spots." If you do not feel capable of delivering an effective punch, you may have to go for your opponent's weaker areas to gain an advantage in the fight. You can weaken an attacker who is twice your size by going for his eyes, groin and bottom two ribs.

    • 4

Fight using your entire body. Hit, kick, punch and scratch your opponent if you have to. These may be especially necessary if you are caught off guard by someone who is twice your size.

    • 5

Use your speed. If your opponent is twice your size, there is a good chance you are quicker than him. As such, tire your opponent by quickly dodging his punches and running if you can.
