Grafalloy Attack Lite Specs

Grafalloy Attack Lite shafts are high quality graphite shafts that can be used by all recreational golfers. While some of the specifications indicate that the Attack Lite shaft is for older players, the shaft is good for any player who is looking to gain a little extra swing speed, which translates into more distance. Before choosing a golf shaft, it is important to know the specifications.
  1. Shaft Weight

    • Wood shafts are generally lighter in weight than iron shafts, but Attack Lite shafts are almost equal. No matter what shaft flex you select, the shaft will weigh between 60 and 65 grams. This is extremely light for an iron shaft, which makes it ideal for older golfers and golfers with slower swing speeds. The light weight of the Attack Lite shaft allows golfers to generate more swing speed to help increase distance without over-swinging and sacrificing accuracy.

    Flex Point

    • The flex point is the location in the shaft that is most vulnerable to bending, which affects the ball flight. Attack Lite shafts have a mid-flex point, which gives the golf ball a mid trajectory. Shafts with a high flex point give the ball a lower trajectory and shafts with a low flex point give the ball a higher trajectory. Attack Lite shafts are right in the middle so they are suitable for all golfers.

    Recommended Swing Speed

    • Determining your swing speed is one of the most important factors when selecting a golf shaft. Since your swing speed with woods is faster than with irons, you need to get your swing speed checked for both. Attack Lite iron shafts recommend that you select a regular flex if your swing speed is between 65 and 75 mph. Any slower and you should get a senior flex; any higher requires a stiff flex. For woods, a swing speed of 80 to 95 requires a regular flex.

    Torque

    • The torque of a golf shaft is its resistance to twisting during the golf swing. Both Attack Lite wood and iron shafts have a mid torque rating, which is better for moderate swing speeds. Players with strong swing speeds may find the Attack Lite shafts to be weak and they might cause them to lose some accuracy. While you may not be able to feel the difference in torque between shafts, you most likely will see the results in your golf shot.
