How to Become a Good Caddy
Instructions

1
Learn the course that you'll be caddying. This helps you give better advice to golfers. Until you can memorize each course, it helps to keep a small notebook with you so that you can write down any particularly challenging areas.
-
2
Pay close attention to which clubs the golfer uses at different holes. Record this in a notebook as well. Over time you'll be able to recommend which golf club to use given what you've observed.
-
3
Watch the ball closely at each hole. A good caddy always knows not to lose the ball. For long distance hits, choose a marker, such as a tree or bush, so that you know which general direction to locate the ball.
-
4
Help boost the golfer's morale and confidence when necessary. Remember that you are trying to form a partnership with the golfer, so you want to be supportive.
-
5
Volunteer to help out more experienced caddies and use that time to study. Take note of their knowledge of the green and of how they give advice to golfers. They will be very familiar with the game as well as with the importance in the game.
