Information About Callaway CX3 Golf Balls

With advanced technology, Callaway developed the CX3 golf ball to be long off the tee and soft around the green. There are two versions of the CX3; the Hot, which was designed for golfers to achieve maximum distance off the tee; and the Pro, which is softer for more feel around the course. The leading golf manufacturer no longer makes the CX3 golf balls, as the CX3 series was the 2009 line of golf balls. However a number of online vendors sell the balls.
  1. Features

    • The CX3 golf balls appeal to a wide range of golfers. The Pro has a tight core that helps increase the speed off the club face after a strike yet a softer ionomer cover for more spin to help stop the ball on the green. The Hot is designed for distance; it features a high-speed core, a much harder ionomer cover and a trapezoidal dimple design that helps reduce the spin off the club face, creating more distance.

    Availability

    • The Callaway CX3 golf balls are not listed on Callaway's Web site under its list of products. The balls reportedly were once exclusively sold at Wal-Mart, but the behemoth chain no longer features the balls. A number of online golf stores and vendors do still sell the ball.

    Time Frame

    • The CX3 golf balls were featured in Callaway's 2009 line. However, Callaway does make a ball that is comparable to the CX3. It's called the HX. There are four versions of the HX golf ball: Hot, Pearl (catered to women), Bite (high spin) and Tour. The HX Hot is the equivalent of the CX3 Hot, while the Bite is the equivalent of the CX3 Pro.

    Price

    • A box of the CX3 Pro, which features a dozen balls, will typically cost about $30 while a box of the CX3 Hot is about $20. These prices are cost-efficient, considering a box of Callaway's premium golf balls--Tour--are sold for about $40. The Pro comes in a black box, the Hot in a burnt orange.
