How to Do the Scorpion Death Lock

In the world of professional wrestling, many star wrestlers help to establish their identity in the sport by creating a signature finishing move they use in the majority of their victories. Sting, a wrestler who appeared in both World Championship Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, utilized a submission hold known as the Scorpion Death Lock, which also is known as a sharp shooter. The Scorpion Death Lock is a move that simulates strain on the spine of the wrestler it is applied to, as it appears to bend the spine at a dangerous angle.

Instructions

    • 1

Grab the legs of your opponent while he is on his back, with one leg in each arm.

    • 2

Step between your opponent's legs with one foot.

    • 3

Swing the foot that is outside your opponent's legs over your opponent around to the other side of his legs. Doing so will cause you to turn your back to him, and roll him onto his stomach.

    • 4

Grab the foot of your opponent that is outside your legs with the hand opposite it. For example, if you trapped your opponent's left leg, grab his right foot with your left hand.

    • 5

Grab the foot of the trapped leg and tuck it under your opposite arm. In the example, trap the left leg under your right arm.

    • 6

Bend the trapped leg down over the nontrapped leg, so the nontrapped leg rests in the bend of the trapped knee.

    • 7

Squat down over your opponent, causing him to arch his back.
