How to Follow Cage Fighting

1
Know the leagues. While the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) may be the most popular league, there are other cage fighting leagues out there. The King of the Cage (KOTC) and Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) also give fighters a chance to brawl inside a cage.
-
2
Understand the rules. Most of the rules surrounding cage fighting are what not to do: no eye gouging, no hitting in the groin, no kicking an opponent when he's down, no throwing an opponent from the cage, no hitting in the back of the head or spine. Aside from the list of illegal hits, cage fighting is "anything goes."

3
Recognize what it takes to win a bout. Fighters win by knock out or tap out (submission) by their opponent. They can also win by the referee stopping the bout, the opponent's corner throwing in the towel or by the event doctor stopping the bout. If none of these happens, the bout is won by decision.

4
Learn the history. Cage fighting was not regulated for many years and fighters were being seriously injured. This lead to cage fighting being banned in many places. The sport continued to be popular and eventually rules and regulations were put into place allowing it to grow. Today cage fighting can be seen on television or fans can attend a bout in person.
