1
Look for a home gym system to minimize the amount of workout equipment you have to buy. The ideal system should let you work your upper and lower body at a variety of different resistances. Be sure the home gym can work opposite muscle groups to prevent an imbalance from developing.

2
Get a set of free weights to help your weight training. You will need a variety of different weights to maintain muscle endurance and build the strength you'll need as an Ultimate Fighter. You should get a bench to use for proper posture while using these weights.
-
3
Find a large floor mat to use for sparring at home. You need to be able to easily wash the mats to get rid of sweat and dirt buildup. Don't get a mat that is so soft that you sink into it while you lie down.
-
4
Set up mirrors in your workout room. Quality mirrors are essential equipment for Ultimate Fighter training because they let you see your posture and techniques from different angles. Mirrors can also reduce the need of a second person to spot you while doing some exercises.
-
5
Buy protective headgear and arm and foot padding for standing practice. You should get at least two sets of this equipment because you'll need to practice with someone. Get plenty of moldable mouth guards to protect your teeth.

Shop for a few good instructional videos to learn more about the styles of particular professional fighters. Videos aren't required material for a home training system, but they are a useful supplement to your martial arts instruction.
