1
Plan ahead. Great tailgating parties don’t happen overnight, so make sure you know how many people you are expecting (and plan for more), what you plan to serve and what you need. Assign duties to other guests if necessary.
-
2
Get a large table and grill, if necessary for the food preparation and food setup. Decorate the serving area with red, black and white colored tablecloths, decorations and party favors of your choice. Get extra seating (red and black or UGA chairs, if possible) if needed.
-
3
Provide UGA-themed food. Normal tailgating fare like hamburgers and hot dogs and chips are acceptable, but also think about foods that have red and black colors or are related to UGA. Options include Rice Krispie treats made with red and black food coloring or cup cakes, cookies or cake with red and black icing. Don’t forget condiments, drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and other supplements
-
4
Get UGA-themed food accessories too. This includes red, black and white colored plates, cups, napkins, cutlery; some shops also have these accessories with a “G” or other UGA symbols printed on them.
-
5
Set up props and decorations. Around the tailgating area, set out props like UGA stuffed animals (bulldogs, Uga, Hairy Dog), fight song noisemakers (stuffed animals, CDs) and other UGA or red, black and white colored decorations like pom poms, beads and stringers.
-
6
Dress for the occasion. Wear red, black and/or white clothes or attire with UGA prints. Also, wear temporary tattoos or face paint, matching shoes and hair accessories (for women) for the occasion; buy small temporary tattoos for guests as party favors if you want to make sure everyone is in the spirit.
