Design Contest
-
Get the public involved in the design of your logo by sponsoring a logo design contests. For this 5K run logo idea, establish criteria for all design entries. Require that each design includes the name of the event, location and time. Pick the top three favorite designs from the entries. Let the public vote on their favorite design. The design that receives the most votes is the one that will be used for all marketing and promotional efforts, including advertisements and promotional items.
Merchandise and Equipment
-
You can use the runners as moving billboards by putting the logo design on the front of T-shirts. Require all runners in the 5K run to wear the T-shirts while participating in the race. You can also put the logo on other items that the runners can use during and after the race such as water bottles, hats, towels and backpacks.
Real Pictures Logo
-
Use real pictures in your 5K run logo, instead of using a computer-generated picture. If it's not the first year that the run has been organized, you can use pictures of actual runners who participated in previous years and of spectators who have watched previous races. Using a computer, create a stencil design of "5K." Fill the insides of the stencil design with the pictures. Place the official name of the 5K run above the logo. Underneath the logo, place the date, time and location of the run.
Names
-
Create a logo design using the names of the runners. You can use the current runners' names, or, if it's the second or more year of the 5K run, those who have participated in previous races. Use the names to form the number and letter "5K" and the surrounding background. For the names that actually form the "5K," print them in a different color than the other names in the background of the design. Place the official name of the run, time and location below the logo design.
