1
Hold the pelt taut, fur-side down. Cut the pelt into two five inch long, ½ inch wide strips using the razor knife. Do not cut through the fur. Taper the last inch of each strip to just under ¼ inch wide.
-
2
Locate a spot on the string 10 to 12 inches from the end.
-
3
Untwist the string enough to slide in one tapered edge of the fur strip. Release the string, allowing it to twist, trapping the strip.
-
4
Wind the strip in the same direction as the string's winding, butting the edges together without overlapping them.
-
5
Untwist the string enough to slide in the other tapered end of the fur strip. Release the string.
-
6
Repeat to install a second silencing strip on the other end of the string, 10 to 12 inches from the end.
-
7
Fire the bow several times. The natural action of the string will secure the silencer in place.
