How Can I Tell What Go-Cart Engine I Have?

Go-cart engines are used to propel the go-cart at different speeds. If you would like to know what kind of go-cart engine you have installed on your unit, there are a few things that you can do to obtain the information. Different go-carts will have different engines, but they all have one thing in common: a serial number. The serial number on your go-cart will give you the information needed in the event of a repair.

      Look for any service tags on the back of the go-cart. Service tags will either be a white or silver tag on engine. These are usually held on by industrial glue.

      Locate the serial number for your go-cart’s engine. This will be a 12- to 15-digital number on the service tag.

      Find the serial number engraved on the bottom right or left side of the engine if your go-cart does not have a service tag.

      Call the manufacturer and provide a customer-service representative the serial number to find out what go-cart engine you have.
