Create a NASCAR Pool
-
1
Decide on the group you want to include in the pool. A pool is more easily managed if it is a group of people who know each other and have a connection other than the pool. An email invitation to the group you define is a method to generate interest and urge people to join the pool. The pool can grow if members are permitted to invite friends outside the workplace or their selected group.

There are several options for a NASCAR pool. A Pick'em format enables you to select several drivers, and points are awarded based on where the driver finishes. A salary cap format allows you to select any number of drivers within a budget. Each driver is given a salary based on a driver's performance, and members of the pool can select a team without going over a salary limit. A weekly pool allows entrants to choose drivers for each race, keeping the game fresh and new each week.

3
Publish the rules for the pool. Determine how points are scored as this will affect the strategy entrants use to select their drivers.
-
4
Deliver information such as standings, results and money winners to people in the pool. Printouts, emails or posting results in a central location are the most efficient ways to communicate. Placing NASCAR logos and race cars on the paper or within emails can enhance the visuals of the results.
-
5
Set the fee to enter the pool. This amount should be set to enhance competition, but not make someone uncomfortable about losing the amount invested. Having payment due weekly in a NASCAR pool makes for a good system since there are 36 NASCAR races from early February to late November.
-
6
Determine how and when winners are paid. Having weekly prizes and one large prize at the end for the person who accumulates the most points is a good way to keep people interested each week. A person who has fewer points and a lesser chance of winning the top prize still can win a smaller weekly prize if the driver he selects wins that week's race. Awarding several prizes will keep people interested throughout the entire season.
