How to Serve a Badminton Shuttle
Instructions
-
-
1
Stand with your left foot forward if you are right-handed, and vice versa if you're left-handed. Bend your knees slightly, which will allow you to react if your serve is returned. Hold the racket in your dominant hand.
-
2
Hold the shuttlecock with the index finger and thumb of your nondominant hand so that the rubber ball tip is pointing toward the ground.
-
3
Let go of the shuttlecock and swing the racket forward in an underhand motion, following through as you make contact. The higher you extend your follow-through, the higher the shuttle will go. Generally, you should put more power in a higher serve so that it goes toward the back of the serving square and cannot be easily slammed back at you.
