How to Improve Baseball Eye Tracking

Your eyes are controlled by muscles, so like any other muscle in your body, exercising them will improve their performance. Improved eye tracking can help you increase your batting average, help you maintain better balance and increase your reaction time. There are several exercises that you can do regularly to improve your eye tracking capabilities by strengthening and increasing the flexibility of your eye muscles.

      Hold your right index finger on the tip of your nose. Fix your gaze on the fingertip and move your hand until it is completely stretched in front of you. Once stretched, bring the hand back towards your nose. Repeat this exercise 20 times each time you practice it.

      Hang a ping pong ball from a string attached to the ceiling. Give it a pull and watch the ball, tracking the ball's movement without moving your feet. This can help your eyes track objects with increasing speed and coordination.

      Place a somewhat heavy book on yout head. Place a softball inside a Frisbee and turn it around. While balancing the book, try to follow a softball with your eyes as it rolls inside the Frisbee. Repeat this until you feel you have mastered this without dropping the book.
