Bike to Bike Bluetooth Communication

Whether you’re riding a bicycle or a motorcycle, it often helps to be able to communicate with other riders. Bike-to-bike Bluetooth solutions let you do that. Some are comprised solely of Bluetooth-capable headsets, while other solutions involve discrete control units and external microphones. Most can also be paired with smartphones and Bluetooth-capable audio players, allowing you to listen to music.

  1. ChatterBox XBI2

    • The ChatterBox XBI2 is an in-ear Bluetooth headset that lets you communicate wirelessly with up to two other XBI2 users. Its features include full duplex support, a half-mile transmission range and water-resistant casing. The headset can also be paired with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, allowing you to answer phone calls and listen to music while on the road. The XBI2 has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides the device with between 6 and 8 hours of communication time per charge, under standard usage conditions.

    HIOD One

    • The HIOD One is a Bluetooth communication system designed by Free2Move. The system is built specifically for cyclists. It’s comprised of an arm-mounted voice receiver, earphones, microphone and a wrist- or handlebar-mounted control module. The HIOD One has a range of approximately 1,320 feet, or 400 meters. It’s powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack and allows communication with up to five other cyclists. It can also be tethered to a Bluetooth-capable mobile phone to make and receive calls and listen to music.

    Avantalk HM100

    • The Avantalk HM100 is a Bluetooth headset designed to fit inside a motorcycle helmet. Its features include GPS support, waterproof casing, integrated volume controls and multipoint support. Its built-in battery supplies the headset with up to 7 hours of talk time or 220 hours of standby time per charge, under normal conditions. The Avantalk HM100 comes with a miniature USB charging cable, speaker and a boom microphone that measures approximately 9 inches in length.

    ChatterBox Duo

    • The ChatterBox Duo is a limited-range Bluetooth headset that lets you talk to one other compatible device at a time. The Duo has full duplex support and a range of approximately 100 yards. It features waterproof casing, onboard volume controls, remote control support and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. You can use the Duo to talk directly to other compatible devices, or you can pair it with a Bluetooth-capable mobile phone.
