How to Remove a Schwinn Bicycle Tire

Having the right tools to change the tires on your bike can make things a lot easier if a tire bursts. Better still, you can simply change the tire with the use of a couple of table spoons. Changing the tires on a Schwinn bike is no different from changing it on any other bike, so if you learn the following steps you will be able to change any sort of tire on just about any bicycle.

      Take the wheel off the bike frame. Let all of the air out of the tire.

      Put the wheel on the ground with the valve either at the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position.

      Insert the tire lever or the back of one of the spoons under the outer tire carefully. Push it only so far as to be able to pry the tire off the edge of the rim. Do not use sharp items as they can poke a hole into the inner tire.

      Push the other spoon underneath the outer time about 5 inches away from the first spoon.

      Keep the first spoon in the same position and slowly start to pry the tire off the rim with the other one. Be careful not to damage the inner tire. With the second spoon in place, pry some more tire off by slowly sliding it along the rim.

      Repeat Step 5 until the tire is loose enough to be removed by hand.
