How to Calculate the Overall Average in Bowling
In bowling, the highest score you can get is a 300. You want to get the highest score possible. In order to find how you are performing in bowling, you will often use an average. Your bowling average is a good measure of how good you are, because it takes into account all the games you bowl during a season or during a night. This helps smooth out bad games and good games that are just flukes to your actual performance.

Add together the total scores from all your games. For example, assume one night you bowl a 150, 165 and a 173.

Count the total number of games you bowled. In the example, it is three games.

Divide your total score by the number of games you bowled. In the example, 488 divided by three games is a bowling average of 162.66.
