How to Design Your Own Racing Team Tshirt

In racing, teams and fans want to show support for the drivers. Signs, flags, hats, T-shirts and other items are often designed by a silk-screening shop, and can be quite expensive to have custom made. If you want to make your own custom shirts to show your support and team spirit, you can do it at home with limited supplies and experience.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your word processing program on your computer and create a new document. In the document, click the word "insert," hover the mouse over the word "picture" and click on "word art."

    • 2

Choose an effect style, and type your racing team name into the box that appears. Click "OK" when you are finished.

    • 3

Click the word "insert" again, and hover over the word "picture." Click on "from file" to choose an image of your racing team's logo from your computer. Double click the image name on the navigational box that appears.

    • 4

Place your printable iron transfer paper in your printer's paper loading tray. Check to make sure the print will appear on the transfer side of the paper, and not the back. Consult the owner's manual to be sure.

    • 5

Use your pointer to click and drag the image and team name into the desired placement. Click the word "file" and select "print" from the drop-down menu.

    • 6

Place the transfer on your T-shirt, printed side down. Heat your iron to medium heat, and gently smooth over the back of the transfer with the iron. Carefully remove the transfer paper by peeling back from one corner slowly. Allow your T-shirt to cool and it is ready for race day.
