1
Check the number of players each team has registered, before a season starts, and that each team has enough apparel for all its players. Also, check the fixture list (games played over the season) and ensure that no one team has an unbalanced list of fixtures. A team will have an advantage if it's playing seven successive games at home, for instance. Look at the facilities and playing areas of all the teams, to see if they need to be improved.
-
2
Keep in regular contact with local media and coaches of league teams. Ask coaches for the latest news about their teams. Compose a weekly report of what's happening in your league, including results and outstanding performances. Submit the report to your local newspaper. They'll normally be happy to print it, as it's really a news item written for them, for free. It's also free promotion for your league and the teams in it.

3
Establish an awards event for the end of the season. Awards should be made to the best team of the season, the best player, the best coach, the outstanding performance in a game by a team, and also the best individual performance in a game. Invitations should be sent to all the teams in the league.

4
Improve your knowledge of running a youth sports league. The best way to glean knowledge quickly is by contacting other youth sports league administrators and talk to them about the issues you face.
