How to Control a Sea-Doo

Water toys can liven up recreation time in the ocean or swimming pool. Sea-Doo produces a range of in-water scooters that can be used both for fun and practical activities in the water such as swimming into a current and conserving energy while diving. The devices are operated by a couple of triggers controlling the propeller. You should know how to operate them safely to ensure that you can enjoy their features to the maximum.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Sea-Doo scooter in the water.

    • 2

Flip the safety switch on the side to the "On" position.

    • 3

Grip the handles and pull on both triggers to start the propeller. Release one or both trigger to cut the propeller.

    • 4

Drive the scooter with straight arms. Bend your wrists to turn the scooter sharply. Angle your body and the scooter to turn the scooter in a slower turn.

    • 5

Drive the scooter into the bottom if you get a runaway motor -- when releasing the triggers will not stop the motor. Hold the scooter against the bottom while you try to fix the problem. If you are not close to the bottom then you can foul the propeller to stop it by sticking something such as your dive knife in it. The last resort is to let the scooter go.
