Fencing in Idaho

Fencing is a fast-paced sport composed of three disciplines or weapons: foil, epee and saber. Known as "physical chess," fencing requires both physical fitness and mental agility. Idaho has several fencing clubs at which you can try this sport that will have you moving and thinking on your feet.
  1. Boise Fencing Club

    • Protective gear is important in fencing.

      Serving southwestern Idaho, the Boise Fencing Club offers instruction in foil and epee for beginner and intermediate fencers. Open fencing sessions also are available to fencers who want to hone their skills.

    Coeur d'Escrime

    • Tournaments are held throughout Idaho and the Pacific Northwest for competitive fencers.

      Located in Coeur d'Alene and founded in 1995, Coeur d'Escrime promotes fencing in communities in the inland northwest portion of Idaho. The club caters to recreational and competitive fencers of all ages, offering instruction in foil, epee and saber.

    Pocatello Fencing Club

    • Many clubs provide equipment for new fencers.

      The Pocatello Fencing Club, located in southeastern Idaho, caters to both recreational and competitive fencers. If you're new to fencing, the club will introduce the sport to you during a free trial period, or you can purchase an individual, half-time, junior or family membership.
