Field Hockey Camps in Pennsylvania

Field hockey players and teams who want to improve their skills benefit from the intensive training of camps. Field hockey camps in Pennsylvania are usually held during the summer months. Players of all levels, from middle school to the college level can find camps in Pennsylvania to suit their skills. Camps offer additional training designed specifically for goalies. Many camps offer either day or residential programs.

  1. Bloomsburg University

    • Bloomsburg University offers three types of field hockey camps during the summer. The Intensive Team and Individual Camp last four days. Individuals, partial teams or entire teams may attend. Players practice individual skills in the morning, team techniques in the afternoon and play competitively in the evening. The Intensive Team camp lasts four days and trains an entire team to work more effectively. The goalkeepers camp occurs at the same time as the other camps. Goalies work on their skills specific to their position and join their team in the evening for competitive play.

    East Coast Field Hockey

    • East Coast Field Hockey offers camps for teams and individuals. The Junior Academy camp focuses on players in grades five through eight. Other programs focus on high school and college players. The camp's Mendoza Hockey Course instructs players on the field and in the classroom. The National Elite Academy is a six-day course that gives players intense instruction, plus teaches them skills for academic success. The National Striker Academy gives offensive players insight into goalie training to teach them to score more effectively. East Coast Field Hockey also offers an indoor camp on Astroturf for three days in January. Astroturf makes the game faster and will challenge the players' skills.

    Champion's Edge Field Hockey Camps

    • Champion's Edge offers camps throughout the country. In Pennsylvania, the University of Scranton and Mercersburg Academy both host Champion's Edge camps. The camps are for players in high school. Individuals or teams may enroll. Both schools host resident and day camps. The University of Scranton also holds an ELITE camp, which is for varsity players. The camps last four days, during which players receive over five hours of instruction. For two hours each evening, campers play full games.

    Holly Shores Field Hockey Academy

    • Holly Shores offers a camp for high school students, ages 14 through 18 and a camp for middle school students in grades 6 through 9. The camps are held at Westtown School in Westtown, Pennsylvania. Each camp lasts four days. Campers live in dormitories at the school. The camp has one instructor for every ten players and an additional instructor for every five goalies. Teams or individuals may attend.
