Field Hockey Camps in Massachusetts

According to US Sports Camps, kids who attend instructional sports programs have the opportunity to learn important new skills from experienced and passionate coaching staffs. The state of Massachusetts has several field hockey camp programs run by long-time, award-winning coaches. Most of the camps are less than a week long, and offer both overnight and commuter options to fit the needs of many sporting families.
  1. Elite Field Hockey Camp

    • Elite Field Hockey camp in Rowley, Massachusetts is open to field hockey players from ages 12 to 18. The camp invites both beginner and expert players who learn the basic skills of the sport through small tournaments and games. Camp sessions last four days, and new sessions begin each week from mid-July to early August. The weekly cost for overnight camping covers meals, lodging and awards. Cheryl Murtagh, head field hockey coach at Northeastern University and 2003 NFHCA Coach of the Year, directs the camp along with several other successful high school and collegiate coaches.

    All Star Field Hockey Camp

    • The All Star Field Hockey Camp is held on three synthetic turf fields on Springfield College campus in Springfield, MA. The camp holds two four-day summer sessions, beginning July 31st and August 4th respectively. Campers receive a jersey, ball, mesh bag, mouth guard and water bottle when they arrive, and overnight campers are served three meals per day.

      Campers who opt to stay overnight can choose one roommate and a room in an on-campus dormitory. The All Star Field Hockey Camp's fee structure accommodates individuals and teams up to 12 players. After practice, campers can swim in the campus pool as well.

    The Camps at Babson College

    • Girls ages 12 to 16 are invited to register for the field hockey camp at Babson College in Babson Park, Massachusetts. The camp divides hockey players by skill, so every girl can compete at her own level. Players receive instruction on important sport rules and strategies, and there are individual, customized instruction sessions for each goalkeeper. Interested goalkeepers must note their position on the registration form. Campers should bring shorts and t-shirts or sweatshirt. The camp does not provide sticks, guards or shoes, so each camper must bring her own. Julie Ryan. head coach of the Babson College field hockey team, has directed the camp since 2007. The cost of the camp includes a daily, all-you-can-eat lunch.
