1
Wash the peeling ice skate blades with soap and water. Dry the blades with a clean cloth.
-
2
Sand each blade with 320-grit sandpaper until the entire surface is smooth. Pour liquid steel evenly over the surface and allow the liquid to dry. Sand down the surfaces again so that they are level.
-
3
Wipe away the sanded debris with a cloth. Clean the blades' surfaces with wax remover.
-
4
Apply two coats of high build primer to the peeling blades, allowing the first coat to dry before proceeding to the second.
-
5
Apply two coats of basic primer to the blades, again allowing the first coat to dry before starting the second. Sand down any drips, bubbles or other imperfections that cause the surfaces to be uneven. Wipe down the blades with wax remover.
-
6
Position the chrome aerosol paint 8 inches away from the blades. Spray the paint on in two thin coats, letting the first coat dry before beginning the second.
-
7
Apply an even layer of clear coat aerosol paint once the chrome paint has thoroughly dried.
-
8
Use wax to give your refinished blades a polished look once the final layer of paint has dried.
