The Colors of the Amarillo Dusters' Uniforms

The Amarillo Dusters were an indoor football team that played in the Intense Football League and AF2 from 2004 to 2009. In time for the 2010 season, the Dusters were renamed the Amarillo Venom and joined the Indoor Football League. During their existence, the Dusters uniforms were black, red, tan and white.
  1. Black

    • The Dusters home jerseys were black with accents in several colors. The front and back of the jerseys were black. The team's helmets and pants were also black. Many teams adopt black jerseys due to their intimidating nature, and the Dusters also chose this color because it was similar to the dominant color of another local hockey team, the Amarillo Gorillas.

    Red/Crimson

    • On both the black home and white road Dusters jerseys, red played a prominent role. The jerseys featured red collars, red shoulders and red accents along the side panels and around the player's number. Red replaced the color orange, which the Dusters used in the same location on their jerseys until the 2008 season. Using black and red together stood for two strong characteristics, Dusters owner Randy Sanders told Connect Amarillo in 2008. "The black and crimson jerseys reflect unity and power, both on the field and off," he said.

    Tan

    • Tan was an accent color on both the home and road Dusters jerseys, and was used as thin trim around the shoulders and team name. Tan appeared on the Dusters logo, a stylized image of half-man, half-tornado, on the logo's face and arms. After the Dusters changed their name to the Venom, the team continued to use tan as an accent color.

    White

    • The background of the Dusters road jerseys was white, the opposite color of the home jerseys. On the black home jerseys, white was also the color of the player's number and last name. White accents such as the league name, which was located on the collar of the jersey, and the jersey manufacturer's logo, located on the chest, were also in white on the black jerseys.
