Differences Between Bridgestone B330 & Titleist Pro V1
-
Design
-
The 2011 Titleist Pro V1 boasts of a completely redesigned ball. The design features a thinner casing to help with backspin. The 2011 Pro V1 cover is made of high-performance urethane allows for a more durable ball. The Titleist ball's dimple-design helps contribute to longer distance through aerodynamics.
The 2011 Bridgestone B330 ball features a soft urethane cover for optimal spin and control around the green. The B330 also claims its dimple design allows for superior flight consistency over previous models.
Core
-
The core of a golf ball often makes the difference in flight patterns and overall striking.
In 2011 Titleist Pro V1 introduced a reformulated core, one that is larger than previous versions and provides a comfortable feel while adding distance.
The Bridgestone B330 is built a little differently, featuring a four-part construction. The core of this 2011 ball for this model is softer and helps provide longer distance and more control. But the core is joined by Bridgestone's Dual Mantle design that features an inner and an outer mantle. This four-part design helps reduce spin off the drive.
Driving
-
Putting distance on a drive is one of the best feelings in golf and also helps shorten any hole. Both the Bridgestone B330 and the Titleist Pro V1 are designed to eliminate backspin off the drive to help increase distance.
The Titleist Pro V1 looks to create straight flight by lowering the backspin and increasing the speed of the ball after it is struck. When struck correctly the ball should take a flat flight with much less arch.
The Bridgestone B330 ball is optimized for speeds of greater than 105 mph, allowing for a better launch and a quicker flight.
Price
-
Ultimately the biggest difference between the two balls lies in the price. At the time of publication, the Titleist Pro V1 is the more expensive of the two, with a four-sleeve box generally costing more than $55. Conversely, a dozen of the Bridgestone B330 usually goes for more than $40 in retail places.
