1
Thread the skate lace through the bottom eyelets of the skate. Pull the lace straight through until there is an even amount of skate lace on each side.
-
2
Sit down and place the skate between your thighs, facing out. Thread the lace on the left side up and through the second eyelet from the bottom on the right side. Repeat with the other side, so you have a "X" pattern.
-
3
Continue threading the skate lace through the next eyelet on the opposite side until you have almost reached the top. Leave a few eyelets open in order to fit your foot into the skate.
-
4
Slide your foot into the skate. Bang your heel on the floor to get your foot firmly in the skate.
-
5
Tighten the laces starting at the bottom. Make them quite snug at the toe end of the skate and a little less snug toward the middle.
-
6
Lace the skate the rest of the way up. Flex your toe up toward your knee when you tighten the top part of the lace. This will give you some flexibility after it is tied. Tie the lace into a standard bow, and then fold it over and double it.
