How to Buy Tack Wholesale

Providing a horse with food and shelter is bound to be an ongoing expense, but buying tack is usually a one-time event. Searching out a wholesale vendor may pay off in savings.
  1. Not Wholesale

    • Some vendors who call themselves wholesale are not offering true wholesale prices. They claim their prices are extraordinary and offer a program for buyers who order products often, but the only way to prove their prices are low is to compare them with those of other vendors.

    Dealers Only

    • Many so-called wholesale vendors limit their customers to dealers only and recommend that individuals seek out their retail stores. This practice is a handicap for the owner of a single horse or one who needs only one of an item.

    True Wholesale

    • A few vendors of tack offer wholesale prices but require buying three or more of an item to qualify for the lower price. Their information lists a price for one item and then includes a discounted price for buying three. The discount on selected items may be as much as 50 percent.
