Obtain a copy of the National Hockey League's playoff bracket once the regular season concludes in early April. The bracket is divided into the Eastern and Western Conference; eight teams from each conference play best-of-seven series throughout the playoffs.
-
2
Have each pool participant pick the winner of each series in the conference quarterfinals and the number of games in each series.
-
3
After the round is completed, award each participant one point for a correct series pick and an additional two points for correctly guessing the number of games in the series.
-
4
Have each participant pick the winner of the four conference semifinal series and the number of games in each series.
-
5
After the second round is completed, award each entrant two points for each correct series pick and three bonus points for guessing the number of games in each series.
-
6
Repeat for the Eastern and Western Conference finals with each correct series pick worth three points and the number of games worth four bonus points.
-
7
For the Stanley Cup finals, have each participant pick the winner, number of games to win the Cup and series most valuable player.
-
8
After the completion of the finals, award four points for a correct pick of the Stanley Cup winner and five bonus points for the number of games in the series.
-
9
Total each participant's points and the person with the most is the winner of the pool. In the event of a tie, award bonus points for correctly guessing the MVP of the Stanley Cup finals.
-
10
Award a prize to the winner of the pool.
