Learn the NHL point system. With each game, a team can score 2 points, 1 point or 0 points. If a team wins, regardless of whether it is in regulation or overtime, it is awarded 2 points.
-
2
Understand that, if your favorite NHL team loses and the game ends in regulation, then your team is awarded 1 point.
-
3
Know that, if your NHL team survives long enough to get into overtime but loses in overtime, they are awarded 1 point for staying in the game until overtime.
-
4
When you've figured out if your team should receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for an overtime loss or a 0 points for a regulation, add up the points to get the team's total.
