How to Set Up Motorcycle Boots

Motorcycle boots provide essential protection for your feet and ankles. Your feet travel near the speeding pavement or dirt, and taking precautions for their safety important.       Find thick socks that reach over your shins. There are socks sold specifically for motorcycle boots, but you can wear any kind of cotton or cotton-blend tube socks.

      Bend the boots as soon as you buy them. Flex them in all directions. Flex the toe area up and bend the boot in two. Manipulate your boots by pulling the top from the bottom and give them a good stretch.

      Use an old rag and rub leather conditioner on the boots. Leather conditioner is available in shoe stores and some grocery stores.

      Break in new boots by wearing them around the house. Wear them while you do the dishes or mow the lawn. Wear your boots when you walk your dog.

      Although stretching and bending and wearing your boots will help to break them in. You can also use a shoe stretcher. When you are not wearing your boots at night, insert a shoe stretcher to assist with the process. This will aide in setting up your motorcycle boots for safe riding.
