How to Change a Color on a Jutsu

Jutsu is a form of martial arts with a colored belt system. The belt colors are used to distinguish different skill levels and encourage the advancement in skill levels. The belt system also ensures students of different skill levels are poised in a reasonable position in competition -- a white belt beginner is not typically placed against an advanced black belt. The exact color system varies based on the organization and specific style of jutsu, with white being the common starting point and black being the most advanced level.

Instructions

    • 1

Join a jutsu training program with a dedicated leader. Begin as a white belt and attend the entry level classes on a regular basis to learn the fundamental techniques.

    • 2

Obtain a list of the throws, choke holds and techniques associated with each belt. Continue training and master the techniques for the white belt. Approach your instructor when you are confident about each individual technique.

    • 3

Schedule a formal demonstration session with the instructor. Choose a partner from the class or ask the instructor to provide a partner. Demonstrate each of the techniques and wait for approval to change belt color.

    • 4

Move to the next sequence of techniques and begin training to advance further. Repeat the process until you have reached the black belt level. As a black belt, you are eligible to become an instructor while you continue developing and training at an advanced level.
