How to Keep Racquetball Glasses From Fogging Up

Anyone who has played racquetball while wearing a set of protective glasses knows the glasses are quite prone to fogging up during activity. This may not seem like a huge problem, but when you're trying to hit a very small ball traveling at high speeds, the need for unimpeded vision is essential. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to ensure your goggles don't fog up on you.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase fog-resistant goggles. Cheaper racquetball glasses are simply made of plastic and offer little protection against fogging. More expensive glasses, however, may come with fog-resistant lenses that will not fog nearly as easily.

    • 2

Coat the glasses with fog-resistant spray. The same spray that works on diving goggles will work on your racquetball goggles. You can usually find some at your local sporting goods store.

    • 3

Wear a sweatband. Most of the fog that accumulates on your goggles is a result of condensation created by the sweat running down your face. Wear a sweatband to keep the sweat off your face and keep the fog off your goggles.

    • 4

Spit in your glasses. This is a time-tested technique used by swimmers everywhere. Administer a small amount of saliva onto your glasses and wipe them down with a cloth. The chemicals in your saliva will help prevent fogging on your glasses.
