How to Size Roller Hockey Skates

Choosing the appropriate size for roller hockey skates is essential in order to perform to the best of your abilities on the rink. If your skate is too loose, you will be unable to make quick turns and other maneuvers. If they are too tight, you will be in constant pain throughout the game. Roller hockey skate manufacturers size their skates differently, so it is important for you to understand how to properly size your skates based on the various brands.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of your foot from the base of the heel to the top of your longest toe. A foot-measuring tool is preferable, but you can simply look at the size of your shoes if you are not able to access a tool.

    • 2

Determine the brand of roller hockey skate that you plan to purchase. The size of the skate needed differs depending on the manufacturer (see Resources).

    • 3

Use a skate sizing chart and locate the corresponding skate size based on your foot size.

    • 4

Place your foot in the skate when you receive it to verify that it is the correct size. The skate should fit snugly, yet remain comfortable on every side of the foot.
