Instructions

    • 1

Bring some white chalk and a tape measure to set up your court.

    • 2

Make sure the playing surface is smooth - asphalt, concrete, wood or interlocking tiles all work well.

    • 3

Make your rink as close as possible to 180 feet long and 80 feet wide.

    • 4

Surround your rink by a bordering material no less than 8 inches and no more than 48 inches high.

    • 5

Divide your rink in half. "Neutral" territory is considered to be the six feet on either side of the centerline.

    • 6

Draw a 2-foot diameter circle in the very center of the rink. This is for the face-off.

    • 7

Draw two 2-foot diameter circles in each half of the court, 8 feet (or at least equal distance) from the sideboards, for on-sides face-offs.

    • 8

Place a goal in each half, 10 to 15 feet from the back of each side.

    • 9

Mark off a 6-foot radius half circle around each goal to denote the "crease."
