The New York Rowing Association was formed in 1914, although its roots can be traced back to the Harlem Regatta Association formed in 1866. It offers programs for juniors including pre-fall training, as well as for adults and masters. Masters are classed as experienced former collegiate, high school or club rowers. Programs last 12 months and consist of on-the-water rowing during spring, summer and fall and indoor rowing during winter. The club is located in the Harlem River between the Hudson and East rivers in New York City.

Sebago Canoe Club

Racing has quite a history at Sebago with paddlers training in national, international and Olympic-style competitions. Some members are national champions. In addition to rowing, the Sebago Canoe Club in Brooklyn also offers lessons in sea kayaking, canoeing and sailing.

Piermont Rowing Club

The Piermont Rowing Club was founded 11 years ago and boasts 55 members in 2010. It is located in Piermont on the western side of the Hudson River, in New York City, and its season runs from April to November. Members keep in touch during winter through regular social events. Club members participate in a mentoring and coaching programs for beginners and intermediates. Training either happens through individual mentors or in groups.

AngryFish Rowing Club

The AngryFish Rowing Club provides youth and adult rowing programs in 4 and 8-man boats. Members must pass a swimming test and can learn skills in quick or extended classes. The club is in the city of Troy on the east bank of the Hudson River, near Albany.

Newburgh Rowing Club

The Newburgh Rowing Club offers year-round programs to teach and promote rowing. Membership is open to adults and children older than 12 and in summer 2010, it offered summer rowing camps, a learn to row program, canoeing and kayaking, and a masters row program.
