How to Assemble the Concept 2 Rowing Machine

The exercise involved in steering a raft or kayak is high impact and extremely thorough. Unfortunately, you probably don't have many chances to get out onto open waters and enjoy this sort of exercise. Concept 2 rowing machines replicate the physical experience you have when actually rowing and allow you to fulfill a workout whenever you have some time. When you receive your Concept 2, you will have to perform a few simple assembly steps before you can start your rowing routine. Everything you need will be in the box.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the rear bumper off of the monorail. This is the long, straight rail that the seat of the machine rides on. Release the black plastic bumper with the provided Allen key.

    • 2

Slide the bumper onto the top, back end of the rear leg. Put the bumper on the bracket that connects the rail and leg.

    • 3

Position the bumper around the bracket on top of the leg to end up with the horizontal part under the leg bracket. The vertical part of the bumper should go around the leg and be facing outward.

    • 4

Slip the end of the rail into the bracket of the rear leg.

    • 5

Secure it by tightening the screws with the Allen key.

    • 6

Attach the front leg to the underside of the flywheel. The leg should be attached on the end farthest from the pedals.

    • 7

Run the power cord from the flywheel through the deep channel in the arm. The arm will support the display of the machine.

    • 8

Place the tooth gap on the bottom of rail the over the pin protruding from the wheel axle and tighten screws into the drilled holes.

    • 9

Line up the front end of the monorail with the flywheel. The pedal of the flywheel should be closest to the monorail.

    • 10

Lift the plastic flap between the pedals and drop the monorail into place.

    • 11

Lower the flap and snap into place.

    • 12

Insert batteries into the display and attach it to the end of the arm sticking out of the flywheel.

    • 13

Secure the monitor to the arm using the nuts and bolts included. Plug the power cord into the display.
