Purpose of Under Armour

Under Armour is an American clothing company that produces a range of sportswear; most notably its tight-fitting base layers. Formed in 1996 by Kevin Plank, a former University of Maryland football captain, Under Armour is now a popular brand in both America and Europe.
  1. Purpose

    • Base layers are made with a thin material that is designed to be easy to put on and fit comfortably under sports shirts or jerseys. Materials vary for each garment, but are typically a combination of nylon, polyester and elastane. The material wicks sweat away from the body to keep the body temperature cool and stop clothing from becoming wet.

    Function

    • As they are designed for contact sports, the clothing uses the company's ArmourGrip technology, which is designed to hold clothes in place and prevent movement on the body.

    Features

    • The clothing has vent zones in key areas to encourage airflow out of the shirts and to ensure comfort for those wearing them.
