1
Open the buckles and slightly pull the boot tongue upward. Slide in your foot and spread the sides of the boot as you wiggle the tongue to get your foot in comfortably. Stomp your heel down with some pressure on the floor to properly position your heel into the ski boot’s heel pocket.
-
2
Start adjusting the lower buckle on the boot's upper cuff. Always tighten the lower buckle first to help lock the heel snugly. Move to the lower buckles and lock them with medium amount of pressure. If you have to pull very hard to get a snug fit, buckle alignment may be necessary. Avoid tightening the lower buckles excessively because this may twist and deform the shell of your Salomon ski boot. Adjust the upper and lower buckles as much as necessary to attain the proper snug fit. Strap the top of the ski boot to hold the cuff onto your calf snugly.
-
3
Adjust the buckle teeth of your Salomon ski boot, especially if you need a greater range of lower leg space. Some styles of Salomon ski boots allow you to adjust the buckle teeth for more or less than 20 millimeters. To do this, loosen the screw with a 3-millimeter hexagonal key. Adjust the buckle teeth to your desired position and then re-tighten the screw and buckle teeth with the hexagonal key.
-
4
Get a more customized fit by adjusting the position of the instep buckle. If your Salomon ski boot features 3D buckle adjustment, you can change the position of the instep buckle for a more customized foot hold. Adjust by unscrewing the buckle with a 3-millimeter hexagonal key. Position the buckle over the plastic lug on the shell depending on how it tightens to your desired fit. Screw the buckle and tighten securely in the alternate position.
-
5
Stand up with your ski boots and walk around for 10 minutes. Lean and bend your knees while feeling for any severe pressure points on your heel, arch or instep. The fit should be snug yet comfortable. Make additional adjustments if necessary.
