How to Mount Fischer Flowflex Bindings

Fischer Skis produces alpine, cross country and backcountry ski gear. Among this gear is the series of Flowflex bindings. Flowflex bindings are made for alpine use and are streamlined for racing and in-bounds skiing. Mounting the Fischer Flowflex bindings yourself requires a bit of foreknowledge, your weight and an honest assessment of your skiing abilities. The installation consists of two parts: installing the bindings and the adjustment.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the skis, deck side up, on the bench and secure them in ski vises or C-clamps. Clean the decks of dust or debris.

    • 2

Align the Flowflex mounting plates to the deck and mark the screw-holes. Drill out the screw holes to approximately 2 cm deep. Brush off the drilled areas and place the mounting plate to the holes and screw in the mounting bolts.

    • 3

Place the bindings onto the mounting plates and screw the retaining bolts to the bindings, into the plates.

    • 4

Push a ski boot into the bindings and test the hold by pushing the boot until it pops the binding.

    • 5

Consult a DIN chart to get your DIN setting (see Resources). Flowflex bindings use the ski industry standard DIN scale with settings that go up to 16.

    • 6

Turn the DIN screws on the heel plate on the bindings until the DIN gauge reads your recommended number based in the DIN chart. Push the boots into the bindings, push to pop them out and test the DIN. Then take them out for a test ski on a mellow slope.
