1
Obtain the child's snowboard shoe size. Snowboard shoe sizes tend to be half a size bigger than regular shoe size--go with the snowboard size value.
-
2
Use a weight scale to get the child's weight in pounds.
-
3
Measure the child's height and waist width in centimeters.
-
4
Shop for snowboards online, or go to snowboard shops. Always choose models that are specifically designed for kids. Most boards are also gender specific.
-
5
Refer to each board's sizing chart. Sizing charts typically include recommended length of board to a corresponding weight, height, shoe size and waist width.
-
6
Match the recommended board length to the child's height, weight, shoe size and waist width. Every manufacturer has a different sizing chart that may have all or just some of those values. If you are at a snowboard shop, stand the board on its tail, and ensure that its tip reaches somewhere near the rider's chin.
